Is BitMart Really Shutting Down?
+
Yes. On July 26, 2026 BitMart announced an orderly cessation of operations, citing "operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction." Deposits and new registrations stopped the same day. All trading ends August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC, and platform operations wind down on January 31, 2027. This is an announced, structured shutdown with a withdrawal window — not an exit scam or a sudden collapse.
Can I Still Trade on BitMart Right Now?
+
Mostly no. BitMart stopped accepting new spot orders in stages from July 26, 2026, and futures accounts were moved to reduce-only mode. Whatever limited activity remains ends completely on August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC. Treat BitMart as withdrawal-only from today: cancel any open orders yourself, or the system will cancel them for you.
What Happens to My Funds after August 26?
+
Withdrawals stay open. BitMart recommends submitting withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC on August 26, 2026 — later requests still process, but may go through extra compliance checks: identity re-verification, device and IP checks, address screening, and source-of-funds questions. Queues get longer as deadlines approach, so earlier is genuinely better.
Is There a Final Deadline to Withdraw?
+
Not a published one, and that should worry you. The platform formally winds down on January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC. BitMart says account access and withdrawal requests will remain available "for a specified period" after that — but it has never said how long that period is. Don't plan your exit around an undefined window. Withdraw now.
What About Earn, Staking, and Launchpad Positions?
+
BitMart says Earn, Staking, Lending, Launchpad and similar products "will be discontinued in phases according to their respective product arrangements" — there is no single date. Open your Earn dashboard, redeem everything redeemable, and move the proceeds to your spot balance so they can be withdrawn. Don't assume a locked product will unlock itself in time.
Which Alternative Is Best for US Users?
+
A licensed platform: Coinbase, Kraken (most states), or OKX's US arm (~40 states). Most offshore exchanges in our table — MEXC, Bitget, Bybit, HTX, CoinEx and others — explicitly block US residents. Signing up through a VPN means trading on a platform that can freeze your funds the moment a compliance check notices. See the full US guide.
Which Alternative Has the Most Listings?
+
MEXC, with roughly 1,676 CoinGecko-tracked spot coins — more than BitMart itself had at the end (~1,078 tracked, 1,700+ claimed). Gate is close behind at ~1,563. No exchange lists everything BitMart did, though, which is why we wrote a separate guide for tokens that aren't listed anywhere else.
What if My Token Isn't Listed on Any Other Exchange?
+
You have three options, in order of preference: sell it on BitMart for USDT while there is still a market; withdraw it to a self-custody wallet where it lives on-chain independent of any exchange; or trade it on a DEX like Uniswap or Raydium if the token has on-chain liquidity. If it has no liquidity anywhere, document the loss for your taxes. The delisted-tokens guide walks through each path.
Is BitMart a Scam? Did They Steal User Funds?
+
No. This is an announced wind-down with a functioning withdrawal process, which is very different from a collapse or exit scam. BitMart operated since 2018 and survived a $196M hack in December 2021, after which it pledged to make users whole. The real risks now are practical: shrinking liquidity, compliance queues, and the scammers who circle every exchange shutdown.
Do I Need My BitMart Trade History for Taxes?
+
Yes — and this is the most commonly forgotten step. If you sold anything in 2026 (and selling on BitMart before the halt counts), you need cost-basis records for your tax return. After the platform winds down, there is no guarantee you can ever log in again to fetch them. Export your full trade history, deposits and withdrawals today, before touching anything else.
